I had my “First Date” with my grandson Garrett today. We went to the movies to see “Frozen.”
We had talked about doing this last week. We set the time and the date and he didn’t forget. His Pop Pop asked him if he and Garrett’s little sister Zoey could come along, but Garrett said, “No, I’m going with Nana. Zoey is too young to see Frozen!”
We got to the movie and sat through all the previews as we ate our popcorn and gummie bears. He was very excited when he saw the preview for the Lego movie that is coming out next month. He is very interested in playing Lego Batman on his mini-Ipad which he got for Christmas. He is very good at it which is amazing to all of us since he is so young.
Once the movie started he came over and curled up on my lap. I could hear him giggle during different parts of the movie. At one point he laughed and repeated what one of the characters in the movie had said out loud. The people behind us started laughing at his outburst.
These moments we get to spend with our grandchildren are so precious. The time goes by so quickly and before we know it they will be grown. This moment today will forever be “Frozen” in my memory. Hopefully he will remember it as well. I look forward to more dates with him and all my grandchildren. Maybe the next time Pop Pop will get to come along 🙂
